Pure silk brocade is a delicate, structured fabric and should be treated with care, To maintain the beauty and integrity of your Tie, we recommend treating it with care.
- Store rolled rather than folded to protect the structure
- allow the tie to rest between wears so the weave can recover its shape.
- Do not wash. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron. Professional dry cleaning in tetrachloroethene and hydrocarbons, mild process.
Design
Damascene brocade is woven on traditional looms, the pattern raised directly from the weave structure rather than embroidered onto the surface. The design is built into the cloth itself by interlocking threads of silk that create a textured, relief-like motif with a natural luster that shifts with the light and deepens with movement.
This is what separates genuine woven brocade from printed or embroidered imitations: the pattern is inseparable from the fabric, not applied to it.
