Description
The Dār Dībāj Tarboush/Fez is custom-made in one of Egypt’s last working tarboush workshops, where they still use the machine from the Late Muhammad Ali Pasha period. These days, it stands as one of the last bastions of this craft once central to Ottoman, Egyptian, and Levantine menswear.
Made of red dyed wool and given its shape by the straw base, and finished with a leather underlayer.
Care
To keep your Tarboosh in its best condition, treat it as a structured wool hat: brush it regularly with a hat brush, keep it dry, and store it carefully so the shape, tassel, and inner construction remain intact.
Design
Cut in the classic flat-topped, brimless form, it carries the dignified silhouette of the traditional fez: upright, balanced, unmistakable, and made not as costume, but as a serious piece of living heritage.
